Bloo lite masks:
  1. Can bloo lite face masks be washed? It is recommended that these masks are not washed to preserve their protective properties.

  2. How do you pick the correct mask size? The best way to choose your mask size is to measure from the middle of your nose to your earlobe.

    The measurements of each size are as follows: 
    Large (L): 14-16cm
    Medium (M): 12-14cm
    Small (S): 9-12cm
    Extra Small (XS): 7-9cm

  3. How long do bloo lite masks last for? 
    1. Worn as a Pollution / Allergy mask: Up to 200 hours.
    2. Worn as protection against Bacteria and Virus droplets: We recommend that that mask is replaced more frequently; once or twice a week.
    3. Rules of thumb:
      1. In terms of bacteria and viruses, this mask is only one tool in your protection toolkit. It is important to note that this mask is a consumer product, not a respirator and that users should follow other guidelines such as frequent hand washing and social distancing. We recommend that you follow the New Zealand Ministry of Health Guidelines in terms of protection from COVID-19.
      2. If the mask becomes wet, worn, torn or contaminated, or if the wearer is sick, it should be immediately replaced
      3. The filter is likely to be at the end of its life when it is noticeably harder to breathe through. 
      4. For longevity of the mask, makeup such as foundation and lipstick, should be avoided. If they come into contact with the mask, some chemicals like bleach are also likely to reduce the longevity of the mask.

  4. Can the bloo lite mask protect me from COVID-19 (coronavirus)? This mask is primarily designed to reduce the harmful effects of pollution and other airborne irritants such as pollen.

    In terms of pollution, the filter on bloo masks is rated to PM2.5 by the filter manufacturer. 

    With respect to protection from airborne viruses such as COVID-19, the nanofilter on bloo masks is rated at N95 (but not the mask itself) and may provide limited protection to yourself or others around you. Face masks can be effective at capturing (larger) droplets, which is one of the main transmission routes of coronavirus and some studies have estimated a roughly five-fold protection versus no barrier alone.     However it is important to note that this mask is a consumer product, not a respirator and that users should follow other guidelines such as frequent hand washing and social distancing.   5. How to use masks (Source: World Health Organisation):
    • Before putting on a mask, clean hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
    • Cover mouth and nose with mask and make sure there are no gaps between your face and the mask.
    • Avoid touching the mask while using it; if you do, clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

    Refund Policy:
    We do not have to give you a refund if you change your mind about a Bloo mask purchase, or choose the wrong size - so please choose carefully.

    If you do choose the incorrect size, and the mask bag is unopened (for hygiene reasons we cannot accept the return of any mask where the bag has been opened), you may return it and we will replace it with the correct size, on receipt of the return shipping / courier cost.

    If the product you have bought is faulty, we will provide a remedy as required by the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.

    Placing an order

    By placing an order on bloomasks.com you agree to the following terms and conditions.

    In order to place an order, you must be over 18 years of age and possess a valid payment method acceptable to us. If unforeseen difficulties arise or if unsatisfactory credit information about the customer is obtained after the acceptance of the order, we will be entitled to cancel the confirmed order and we will be exempt from liability of any kind.

    When placing an order on our site, you undertake that all details you provide to us are true and accurate, that you are an authorized user of the payment method used to place your order and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods.

    When you place an order, you will receive an acknowledgment email confirming receipt of your order. This email will only be an acknowledgment and will not constitute acceptance of your order. A contract between us for the purchase of the goods will not be formed until your payment has been approved by us and payment has been received.

    Pricing and Availability

    Where applicable, prices are exclusive of GST and shipping costs.

    While we try and ensure that all information, details, descriptions, availability and prices that appear on this website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error, we will inform you of this as soon as possible and find a solution with you. If we have already received your payment, but it is necessary to issue you with a refund, it will be refunded to the payment method used.


    All products are always shipped in secure packaging. You choose your most convenient shipping method during checkout. Available shipping methods will be shown during checkout.

    We will cover any damage to the product during shipping, and ship you a replacement if needed.

    Dispatch times may vary according to availability. Any guarantees or representations made as to delivery times may occasionally be subject to unforeseen delays resulting from postal delays or force majeure (such as events related to COVID-19), for which we are not responsible

    Governing law and jurisdiction

    These terms and conditions are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of New Zealand.
